Six Week Pottery Classes $200 per person

2 hour class, twice a week

-          Instructor teaching the course    

Maximum 5

-          Up to 10 pounds of clay (5 - 2 pound balls), each session

-          Students will learn how to make their own ball of clay, throw on the pottery wheel, and glaze their piece

-          Items will be fired and ready for pick up approximately 2 weeks after the last class

-          Students will take home between 1 – 5 pieces of their own artwork


Open Studio Pottery

Drop In $25 per visit: 

- drop in during business hours

- no formal instruction

- children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult, and no more than 2 children per adult

- participant should have previous knowledge of pottery and how to use a pottery wheel

- 5 pounds of clay included:  additional clay is available for sale

- use of pottery tools

Glazing Prices

- You are welcome to use your own glazes provided that they are cone 6 glazes.  You are responsible for the storage of your glazes and glaze materials.  If you choose to purchase our glazes, the cost is $3 per item, no larger than 8" tall.  Anything larger, the price will be negotiated.

Firing Prices

- Base rate:  $10 per square foot, under 8" tall

- Other sizes, cost will be negotiated

If you consistently use too much glaze so that your piece sticks to our shelves, you will be charged a minimum of $1 per offending piece.  Occasional accidents are permitted, but continual offenses will be fined.  If the clay body you use "melts down," you will be charged a minimum of $50 for the damage to the kiln.  If your piece explodes and does damage to other pieces, a charge will also be incurred.  All pottery pieces can be stored safely at the studio (greenware, bisque, and finished pieces). 

All items left for more than 60 days will become property of Joe Molina Gallery and Studios. 


"Throw with Joe" (pottery session)

Ideal for:

- friends

- families

- birthday parties, showers, small reunions

- corporate outings

 Individuals or groups of up to 5 who want to have fun and learn what it takes to throw on the pottery wheel.  Most of all, we want you to have fun.  You will get a chance to try out a potter's wheel and get your hands dirty, while Joe helps you to make your own unique item.  We provide everything you need. 

We will finish and fire one piece per person in the glaze of your choice.  Work will be finished and ready for you to pick up in approximately 2 weeks.

Restrictions/Rules

- Advanced noticed required, one days' notice is acceptable, if the schedule permits

- Two hour session

- $50 per person, includes the cost of having one piece glazed and fired.

- Participants must be 10 years or older

- Registration costs must be paid in full prior to starting the class

- Wear clothes that you can get dirty, including shoes

- If you need to reschedule, please contact us at least one day prior to the date.  We will reschedule once at no additional cost.  There are no refunds if you cannot reschedule.
